Are You on the Suspense List?

You are still an eligible voter.

Being on the Suspense List does not stop you from voting. It just means your address needs to be confirmed.

Here’s How to Fix It

You can update your voter registration online, by mail, or in person before the voter registration deadline for an election.

Online

You can update your voter registration information ONLINE on the Texas Secretary of State Website at TEXAS.GOV.

What You'll Need:

  • Your Texas Driver’s License or Texas Personal ID Number
    AND/OR
  • Your Social Security Number
    PLUS
  • Your Voter Unique Identifier (VUID) Number
    1. You can find this number on your Voter Registration Certificate by searching your voter registration records HERE.

By Mail

Use our voter registration application portal to update and print your application HERE.
OR
Pick up a blank application IN PERSON at any Harris County Tax Office location during business hours.
AND
MAIL your completed application to:

AND
Submit your completed application IN PERSON at any Harris County Tax Office location during business hours.

Tax Office business hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All locations are closed on Wednesdays.

  • Your Social Security Number

Reminder

If you don’t update your voter registration information before the voter registration deadline for an election, and you still live in Harris County, you can still vote even if your voter registration is in suspense.

You must complete a Statement of Residence when voting by mail OR at the polls.

If you live in Harris County, CHECK your Voter Registration Status HERE.

After you enter your information, you'll see your voter registration certificate if you are registered to vote.

If you are on the suspense list, you’ll see “SUSPENSE” in the bottom left-hand corner.
