Harris County Monthly Tax Sale a Success

Mike Sullivan recovers lost revenue for taxpayers

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan is working to reclaim lost revenue for Harris County residents. Thousands of properties sit vacant throughout the county, creating unsafe conditions and lowering property values. Many property owners are delinquent, and for years they fail to meet their tax obligations.

With help from the county's delinquent tax attorneys, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, we make drastic improvements to eyesore properties across Harris County.

“Delinquent property taxes unfairly burden the taxpayers of Harris County, and we need to recover every dollar possible,” said Mr. Sullivan.

Each month the county holds public auctions. The goal is collect delinquent taxes and to put neglected properties into the hands of new owners.

For the month of August 2015, a total of 331 properties were posted for sale. Sullivan successfully reclaimed $2,859,526.12 for the citizens of Harris County.
