Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan and his staff participate in daily outreach events, in an effort to register a record number of voters. On Thursday members of the Voter Registration Department visited the Emery/Weiner School to make a presentation to high school seniors.
"This is the kind of effort that epitomizes my role as voter registrar. My dynamic staff is always coming up with new and innovative ways to reach new voters and to get citizens involved in the process," said Mike Sullivan.
Amy Nguyen, Associate Director of Voter Registration, stood before high school seniors, explaining the rules and helping seniors understand the importance of registering to vote. After the presentation, members of Sullivan's staff accepted voter registration applications and answered one-on-one questions.
"If you know anyone who would like a presentation for their group or help with the voter registration process, please don't hesitate to call my office," said Sullivan.
Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan also serves as the Harris County Voter Registrar, who conducts voter registration activities and maintains a certified list of registered voters. Learn more about voter registration and the requirements by visiting www.hctax.net.
