Harris County 2021 Property Tax Statements are in the Mail

Tax Office Offers Easy and Convenient Payment Options

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett announces that over one million property tax statements for 2021 are in the mail. Property owners are encouraged to check their mailboxes for their property tax statement. Due to the United States Postal Service’s changes to delivery times, some tax statements may arrive later than usual. Property owners may view their property tax statements online at www.hctax.net.

Generally, all property tax payments are due by January 31 the following year.

“Property owners have the ability to review their property tax statement online if they do not receive their property tax bill in a timely manner due to USPS delivery changes. Also, to ensure a timely payment, several safe payment options are available so that a property owner’s payment is received by the January 31, 2022 deadline,” said Bennett.

Property tax payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Credit/debit card, or free e-check payments may be made online at www.hctax.net, or by phone at 713-274-(CARD) 2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622.

“If a property owner is struggling to pay their property tax bills, they can contact the Tax Office to request an installment payment plan. Property owners may request an in-office meeting, a meeting via Zoom, or seek assistance by phone. We are here to help,” said Bennett.

Property owners may request an installment payment plan online at www.hctax.net, by email at installmentpaymentplan@tax.hctx.net, or by phone at 713-274-8000. Property owners can send an email to tax.office@hctx.net to request an in-office appointment, or to schedule a meeting via Zoom.
