Harris County Property Taxes Due January 31, 2022

Tax Office Open for Property Tax Payments Online and by Phone 24/7

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett reminds property owners that the last day to pay their 2021 property taxes is Monday, January 31, 2022 to avoid penalty and interest which will begin to accrue on February 1, 2022.

“Harris County property owners are reminded that the property tax deadline is days away,” said Bennett. “This is another unusual property tax season due to the surge in COVID-19 variant cases, so property owners may choose to pay their 2021 property tax statement by mail, online, or by phone using a free e-check.”

Property tax payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Credit/debit card, or free e-check payments may be made online at www.hctax.net, or by phone at 713-274-(CARD) 2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622.

All Harris County Tax Office locations have drop boxes available for property owners to submit their property tax payments. The customer will receive a drop box receipt.

For all property tax payments, property owners can access, view, and print a copy of their property tax receipt once the payments have been processed by going to our website at www.hctax.net.

“I also want to encourage property owners who have property tax questions to reach out to my office for assistance. Property owners may request an in-office meeting, a meeting via Zoom, or seek assistance by telephone. We are here to help,” added Bennett.

Property owners may send an email to tax.office@hctx.net to schedule a meeting via Zoom. In-office appointments can be scheduled online at www.hctax.net.
