February 3 is the Voter Registration Deadline for March Primary

Eligible Voters Still Have Time to Register for Primary Election

Harris County, TX - Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar Ann Harris Bennett reminds eligible unregistered voters that February 3, 2020 is the last day to register to vote to participate in the March 3, 2020 Primary Election.

“As Voter Registrar for the nation’s third largest county, I encourage eligible voters to register to vote before the February 3 deadline for the opportunity to participate in the March Primary,” said Bennett.

State law requires that eligible voters register 30 days prior to voting. Eligible unregistered voters may obtain a voter registration card at any Harris County Tax Office location, U.S. Postal Office, or at a public library.

“This is also a good time to update your address if you have moved, or update your name if you were married recently,” added Bennett. “Updating your information now will help ensure a smooth checkin process when you go vote in the March 3 Primary.”

Voter registration cards are also available for download by visiting the Tax Office website at www.hctax.net or by calling the Tax Office at 713-274-VOTE (8683). Voter registration cards are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. All applications must be postmarked by February 3 in order to be accepted.
