TODAY is the Voter Registration Deadline for March Primary

Downtown Voter Registration Department Extending Their Hours Until 6 p.m.

Harris County, TX - Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar Ann Harris Bennett reminds eligible unregistered voters that today is the last day to register to vote to participate in the March 3, 2020 Primary Election.

The downtown Harris County Tax Office Voter Registration Department in the Harris County Administration Building at 1001 Preston (second floor) is extending their hours until 6 p.m. to register eligible voters before the deadline.

“I urge those who are not registered to vote to visit the downtown Tax Office to register before today’s deadline for the opportunity to participate in the March 3 Primary,” said Bennett. “Voter registration applications may also be sent by mail, but must have today’s postmark to be valid.”

State law requires that eligible voters register 30 days prior to voting. Eligible unregistered voters may obtain a voter registration card at any Harris County Tax Office location, U.S. Postal Office, or at a public library. Voter registration cards are also available for download by visiting the Tax Office website at www.hctax.net.

“Registered voters can also update their addresses today if they have moved, or those who have married recently can update their name to help ensure a smooth check-in process when voting in the March 3 Primary.” added Bennett.

Voter registration cards are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. All applications must have today’s postmark of February 3 in order to be accepted.

Only the downtown Tax Office Voter Registration Department will be open late today. All other Tax Office locations will close at their regular time of 4:30 p.m. For help by telephone, call 713-274-VOTE (8683).
