HOUSTON – July 1, 2008 – Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Paul Bettencourt announces that the Harris County Tax Office is now collecting property taxes for the City of Tomball. This year’s 2008 property tax bills for the City of Tomball will be sent from the Harris County Tax Office.

    “Tomball property taxpayers will be able to get online instead of in line at www.hctax.net. The bottom line is, as a result of this tax bill consolidation, Tomball’s taxpayers will save time and the City will save substantial costs since the Harris County Tax Office is directly across the street from City Hall,” commented Bettencourt.

    Consolidation of Tax Offices gives Tomball taxpayers the choice of paying property taxes online using any combination of credit cards and/or e-Checks at www.hctax.net, by touch-tone telephone with a credit card by calling 713-368-CARD (2273), or at any of the 16 Tax Office branches.

    For individual property tax assistance, City of Tomball taxpayers may visit any of our 16 Tax Office branches or call 713-368-2000. (The closest Tax Office for Tomball taxpayers is, of course, the Tomball Office located at 101 S. Walnut Street, right across from City Hall.)
