HOUSTON – June 26, 2008 - Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Paul Bettencourts together with the District Attorney’s Office, Texas Department of Transportation*, Texas Comptroller’s Office*, Harris County Constable’s Office and the Department of Public Safety* will hold a press conference Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the 1st Floor Conference Room at the Harris County Administration Building.

Why:	“Fraudulent Auto Title Transfers covering stolen cars are generating identity thefts and other problems are becoming very prevalent in some areas of the community. We’ll tell the public what to be on the lookout for so they’re not defrauded or worse”, remarked Bettencourt.
