HOUSTON – April 11, 2006 – Harris County Voter Registrar Paul Bettencourt reminds Harris County’s nearly 1.9 million registered voters that today is Election Day, another opportunity to make their voices heard regarding their choice of candidates in November.

Even those who did not vote in the March primary are eligible to vote in today’s run-off. Those who did vote in the primary may not switch parties in the run-off, however, as the election is essentially a continuation of the primary.

• Voters, election judges and others may call the Voter Registrar’s Election Day Call Center at 713-368-VOTE (8683) for status and precinct information.

• The Call Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
